Tom Igoe's books(Amazon) are awesome, I will bring them to the next meeting.

In agreement with Luke, we really need to be doing work with other components to make this knowledge stick. So I encourage people to start thinking about the kinds of projects they want to build and thinking of ordering the components in them.

There are great project examples in the Arduino Playground wiki, Arduino Playground.

Further more, you can find most components of interest on the Sparkfun website, with data-sheets to understand how they function and interface. Sparkfun (I will start a wiki to list other good distributors and we can go over these sites at the meeting.)
