Introduction To Computer Networking Workshop Series – Mondays Starting January 20th
DATE: Mondays, January 20th – March 10 (excluding February 17)
TIME: 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM (new folks, please come at least 15 minutes early to get a quick safety tour)
COST: Suggested minimum donation of 5$ per class to VHS for non-members
WHERE: Our new building (The Bunker) 270 1st Ave E, Vancouver BC V5T 1A6
WHY: To learn how the internet works and how to fix it! The first couple of”classes” will be an introduction and will cover what is considered a Network+ level of understanding. You’ll learn things like how to crimp an ethernet cable, to how basic routing protocols work. Paired with a bit of studying on your own time you should be confident to take Network+ and with a bit more studying CCENT. Some of us are going for the CCENT afterwards as well so support will be available if you choose to do so. This will be a fast-paced class.
We’ll have networking equipment for demoing and will have some labs setup as well. This should be a good time. Beginners welcome for the first class for sure!
WHO CAN COME
Everyone is welcome! You don’t have to be a member.
WHAT TO BRING
Your laptop, and if you have it enterprise grade networking gear for demos (we won’t be using this the first class)
