Specifications
This is a custom CNC conversion from a Grizzly G0463 manual milling machine. It has a lot of expensive upgrades and tooling, including a 4th (rotary) axis. It has a 2.5HP motor which runs up to ~5500 RPM and as such is capable of cutting most materials, even hardened steel with the appropriate tooling. Each axis is driven by very heavy duty industrial drivers (each is almost the size of an entire 3D printer) and runs on ball screws for almost zero backlash.
Training
Mandatory training specific to this machine is required. Users must first be trained on the Taig CNC mill, and be able to demonstrate competency in its use.
Speeds & Feeds
Use the cutting speed calculator on the CNC PC to calculate appropriate cutting speeds for your material, cutting tool, and depth of cut combination. It is very important to have the correct feed rates for a cut in addition to the correct RPM on CNC machines.
